About this class

This is a 3-day class focused on tool selection, application, material processing, and construction of a classic bookcase, utilizing the Festool System.

In this Festool System Workshop, we will cover the tools and techniques necessary to construct a classic wooden Bookcase. Though participants will walk away with a range of broadly applicable skills, the class will concentrate primarily on the precise and efficient break down, processing, and joining of both solid and composite materials using Festool saws, routers, sanders, joiners, dust extractors, tables, Edge banders, and more.   This class will focus on utilizing the Festool System exclusively, to create a complex casework piece in either a jobsite or shop environment.

This should be considered an intermediate level class, and since most of the three days will be spent in the shop using the tools, we require that registrants have attended a previous Festool System workshop. Safety glasses and earplugs will be required during all tool use.

Participants will be asked to sign a standard liability waiver during the registration process or at the outset of class. If this presents a problem, please let us know beforehand, since this will impact our ability to allow you to work with the tools.

Objective:

Participants will leave this class with a better understanding of standard casework construction  applications, while learning Festool System based techniques that will enable them to achieve better results in less time, and with less waste, in virtually any environment.

Participants will learn and work as teams, as they build their skills while creating a Classic Bookcase with the Festool system. Completed bookcases will be donated to benefit non profit organizations.

Pre-Requisites

Participants must have successfully completed the Festool Essentials workshop, prior to registering for this Bookcase workshop.
